The courts include basketball, pickleball, and four square. Please stop up to the pool parking lot to check them out.
The paint used is not permanent and will eventually fade. We choose this route to see how the community utilizes and responds to these courts. We can easily reapply in the future if needed, decide another paint option, or just let the lines completely fade away.
After evaluating areas to use in the parking lot, this area was chosen for a few reasons:
-Out of the traffic lanes
-In the rear of the lot
-Courts could fit inside the already established white line
The paint color chosen was based off which colors were allowed to be used on the parking lot and not cause any confusion. For example: red would indicate fire lanes.
If you’ve never played pickleball or four square, here are the links to the rules:
The uptick of people playing pickleball in the parking lot sparked this project. Pickleball will continue to be B.Y.O.Net & paddles/ball.
Four Square’s court is the inner court that’s outlined with dashed lines. There are four squares labeled A, B, C, & D.
As always, please be courteous to your fellow neighbors when wanting to utilize the courts. There’s only one court of each so there will be times when multiple parties would like their time to play. Having this talk with your kids would be great.
An ask for those that drive golf carts to the pool… During the summer, some like to park on the basketball court under the shade. When the carts are on the court, people won’t be able to play. If possible, please use another shaded spot in the parking lot. Thank you.
A quick note on the basketball hoop: PLEASE remind your kids that there is NO hanging on the rim. We don’t want to replace this hoop again. If the basketball hoop is respected, it will last a long time.
We hope EVERYONE enjoys these courts. It would be great to get some community tournaments organized.
